Blakely Comes A'Callin!

Note to readers:  I typed out the following two blog posts about 3 weeks ago but things got away from me and here we are, in April.  Yikes!  Where does the time go?  We are done with our third week of visitors and are about ready for some travel weekends this month.

ANYWAY....

My great friend Blakely came all the way from Houston with her boyfriend PK to visit for St. Paddy's Day!  We had a really fun time and they were pretty much perfect house guests.  We did two days of St. Patrick's Day celebrating and beer drinking, followed by two days of touristy things, and jetted off to Galway and the Cliffs of Moher for the tail end of their trip.  Here are some pics!

Nothing to do with Blakely and PK's visit - just a pretty sunset I walked home to before they got here.

PK and Drew on the night of their arrival!
(We now affectionately called them "the dads".  Because...sometimes they act like dads.)

Welcome drinks at the pub.  And Ireland WON the Six Nations Championship!  Woooohoooooo.

Next up: St. Paddy's Day celebrations!

Pre-Paddy's Day fun at O'Donoghue's on Sunday - we got a few tables at a popular pub in town and had all our friends and their friends come join us for Sunday Funday.
That's an Ireland scarf tied around his head.  Probably later in the day, if I had to guess.

Gchat Bfries.

St. Paddy's Parade on Monday.  That's not coffee in those cups, folks.

This parade is hugely popular but unbelievably weird.  We still can't figure out if there's ever a theme or what the hell is going on.  This is a warrior guy riding a stag.

And here's a large Viking ship with...Vikings.

A cookoo clock that opened up with this guy dancing every 2 seconds.
Then we met up with a bunch of pals at O'Neill's for more fun!
Oh, and the Ashbaughs were in town from Boston!  So great to see them!
Some silly snapshots.

Big coats, little hats.

Good pals just talkin' it out.

Tiny hats, UNITE

Not sure.  But fun!

TOURIST TIME!

Three Guinness pints with clovers in them at the Guinness Storehouse!  I love it when they do that.

Mmm this Guinnes is good.

Cuties.

We were in our own Guinness ad!  This did NOT get the Instagram likes we thought it would.  Ugh.

And lastly...this awesome pic of the cute couple at the Cliffs of Moher.  Lookin good!
It was a super fun week with my pals, and I was thankful for the time with Blakely AND for the time spent with PK - I got to know him much better and discovered we have a ton in common.  Who knew!?

Thanks for a great week, BA & PK!
