Edinburgh: Day 3

Our last day in Edinburgh was cloudy and freezing and we hardly slept the night before again but we didn't let it stop us!  No siree.  We got packed and dropped our bags off at the apartment office and headed to breakfast at Mum's, which was awesome.

Hot Choco.
Smoked salmon scrambled eggs and a sausage roll in the background.  Drew also got pancakes.  Yum yum.
As unappealing as a picture of a toilet is...I liked this seat cover.
We also walked by this place, which is evidently where JK Rowling would come and work on that little novel she wrote.
We headed over to Greyfriar's Bobby, a statue of this cutie Skye Terrier who evidently watched over his deceased owner's grave at the nearby Greyfriar's Kirk for 14 years!  They gave the little guy a statue, which makes me love the Scottish people all over again.

Inside the Greyfriar's Kirk graveyard.  REALLY old people in here, y'all.

We'd pretty much stayed near the top of the Royal Mile, and after breakfast we decided to walk all the way DOWN it to the Holyrood House and to take a gander at Arthur's Seat.  Everyone said we needed to hike up to the top, but we weren't particularly dressed for hiking.  But that didn't stop us!!  We stumbled along the muddy uneven paths about halfway up and saw some beautiful scenery and ancient ruins.  Totes worth it.

Cutie with a purse.  (Mine.)

Swan Lake!

More modeling.  Ha.

Pretty view of the city.

Us.

Strong guy.
Drew evidently doesn't like capturing me on camera like I do him, which is why I've hardly been in any pictures in Edinburgh.   This is like the ONE pic taken of me the whole trip, and I'm sticking my tongue out.  Awesome.

Then we walked back UP the Royal Mile and stopped in St. Giles Cathedral, close to the Castle.

You weren't supposed to take pics and I DID!  Booooyah.
We stopped by Deacon Brodie's (a reputable guy who stole stuff from his clients at night, thus inspiring Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde by Robert Louis Stevenson) for some tea and delicious scones before we had to get on the bus to the airport.

Tea and our whiskey and fruit scones.
We hopped on a nauseating bus ride to the airport and boarded our flight (a plane that was probably 30 years old) and made it home in one piece.

IrnBru is some popular Scottish drink that Drew saw/read about on an Anthony Bourdain show, so he insisted on using the last sterling pounds we had on this disgusting drink.  And then he had a good time with the camera, as per usual.
All in all, we had a great weekend in Edinburgh.  It was a cool old city with lots of fun things to do, albeit it slightly creepy.  I'd definitely recommend it to anyone!

Drew is out with guys tonight so I'm home drinking a bottle of wine and watching Dawson's Creek by myself.  Fun!

Happy Friday!
